There was a comment recently that Skateboard Revolution is becoming Skateboard De-evolution and perahps there is some truth to to that, sorrry to say

Back when I started skating, it was alternative to all the gay jock sports, now…I am not so sure. Maybe skateboarding is de-volving to a sport the masses can enjoy, complete with heartthrobs, tv stars and so on. There were probably no screaming girls running out on the field when Bill Weiss did a naked 540 however many years ago. Imagine if Ryan Sheckler did a naked 540 - good god.  I don’t really give a shit, skating is skating. If I were 18 and had the chance to make millions and bang playmates for doing something I love or would I shine it all, avoid the limelight and just skate. Maybe a balance of the two realistically. If you are that good you can do whatever you want really. Skateboarding will not change, if anything, the bigger it gets the more parks will be built and so on.  Fuck, even the underground skaters are becoming close minded, you gotta ride certain trucks, can’t grab stink bug (what about a sick ol straight leg frontside air), you gotta wear certain clothes. The funny thing is that half the people rocking the “heavy metal look” were rocking the baggy look 5 years ago, or even one year ago and they sit around and make fun of everyone else. Fuck, it’s skateboarding do whatever the fuck you want, skate whatever you want and shut the up.  Who cares if this kid is or is not ruining skateboarding. I am not sure I would even start skateboarding today, as gay as it has become. At the root though is the same thing, having a blast rolling around with your friends, f-it, go skate and have fun. I am not quitting, hopefully you don’t either, later.

Oh, just for the record, I do not hate Ryan Sheckler, nor do I love him. He is a good skater that has definitely taken a different path than I would have if I had his talents and  a differnet path than most of the people I know would have. However, who am I to say what is right or wrong.  Actually, if it comes to banging Playmates, I definitely would have chosen that path if I was single and 18, ok any age.
