-Skateboardrev.com for President!
A couple weeks ago while searching the interweb for companies to make top secret alliances with in an effort to reign supreme over the world I came across the company Convoy Skateboards. Convoy is based out of the Washington D.C. area which is nice because there is a ton of sick skatespots down that way. After speaking with their leader I learned that there was going to be a best trick contest at a ten stair over that weekend.
-The flier for the contest.
After a couple quick calls, a plan was made in place to load up the good ol’ Outback Sport and head down for the weekend to shoot photo’s and cover the contest and bring all kinds of hype back to skateboardrev.com for your special eyes to see.
-The good ol’ Outback sport partially loaded.
We arrived in D.C. around 11pm on Friday the 25th of October, and to our dismay found that our fine nations capital city was dealing with a pretty nice storm system. After checking into our wonderful hotel which had an awesome doubleset right out front, and a business complex that only used marble in their ledge building process we looked to the sky and could do nothing but ask “why”.
-Rain
We awoke bright and early on Saturday in preparation for the contest which was set to kick off around noon. However at 11:45 the sky was still plotting against our skateboarding and hype bringing and the contest was called off.
- One mandatory sight seeing photo? Check.
Some of the kids who skate for Convoy were kind enough to hang out for a little, and shoot some photo’s at a double set that was somewhat sheltered from the rain. I use the term “somewhat” very lightly in this scenario as it was still very slippery to skate under the awning that was covering the stairs. Think about landing a trick down a double set onto a sidewalk block, then instantly cruising onto an ice skating rink. The boys went to work though, and some tricks went down… by the end of the session everyone had lost some skin and some blood to the covered stairs of D.C. I hope you enjoy the photo’s and have a great day.

-Getting ready to get rowdy.
-Alex “Switchmode” Davis. Short run up, slippery landing, Switch Ollie.
-Steve from Convoy has frog legs. Big ol’ back 180.
-Chaz Martinez kickflips like a demi-god, this is first try. He landed, rode about ten feet, powerslid on the ice-crete for another ten feet, then bashed his elbows.
-Frog leg monster mellon!
-Jonas, this is my public apology for losing the sequence I shot of you. Sorry.
-If you see Alex, tell him to change his clothes. ˝
