Steve Berra was born on May 10, 1973 in St. Louis, Missouri. He now resides in Los Feliz, California. Berra turned pro in January of ‘92 at the age of 18. He moved from Omaha, Nebraska to Fallbrook, California to live with Tony Hawk. Then Berra, Hawk, Jeremy Klein, and Willy Santos created Birdhouse Skateboards. Steve left Birdhouse a year later, but ended up returning with his friend Heath Kirchart. During their time on Birdhouse they made one of the best and best selling skate vids of all time, called “The End”. Steve and Heath both felt unhappy with Birdhouse, so they left to ride for Alien Workshop. Steve also acted between 1997 to 1998 in a Fox drama named “413 Hope Street”, recieving outstanding reviews for acting as Quentin Jefferson, a young man infected with HIV. Berra decided to give the acting up, to become a better skater. Then in 2006 he started shooting “The Good Life” which premiered at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival. He was married to Juliette Lewis from 1999 to 2005. Berra now owns The Berrics with Eric Koston. The Berrics is a little private indoor park, almost a skaters training facility. The Berrics is now the fastest growing skateboarding website in the industry. Berra’s sponsors include Alien Workshop, DVS Shoe Company, WESC Clothing, and Active Ride Shop.

Jake Brown is one of the gnarliest skaters out there. He is blowing peoples minds by the tricks he can do. He started skating in 1987 and turned pro exactly ten years later. Jake was born in Sydney, Australia on September 6, 1974. Jake is known for skating a lot of contest. His first pro event that he competed in was the Slam City Jam in 1997. He’s also known as “going all out”, he’d rather take the chance of throwing hammers instead of being conservative. In 2005 Jake was awarded “Best Vert Skater” from Transworld Skateboard Magazine. Then in 2006 he won his first X-Games Gold. In the 2007 X-Games he took one of the most famous bails. After doing a 720 over the mega ramp he got speed wobbles and lost control going up the quarter pipe. He was 50 feet in the air and then landed to flat with shoes flying off as he landed. Surprisingly Jake was still able to get up and walk away. He was still awarded the Silver Medal for his previous run. Jake Brown now resides in Carlsbad with his wife April.

Bastien Salabanzi is a pro skateboarder from Tuolon, France. He was born on November 18, 1985. Bastien was considered a natural, and went ahead to win his first contest at the age of 11 in Marseille, France. After winning this contest, Slabanzi was flown out to California by the shoe company vans. This was his first time visiting the United States. In 2004 Bastien finished third in the X-Games street. Then in 05, he went to Rotterdam, Netherlands to take first place in the WSR05 Skateboard Contest. Salabanzi recently parted ways with his major sponsors including Flip Skateboards and Etnies Shoes. Bastien now skates for Alis Clothing and Jart skateboards (A Eurpopean Skateboard Company). He is now back in France, playing his guitar, a new hobby he picked up.

Willy Santos was born on October 1st, 1975 in Subic Bay, Philippines. He has been skating for about 20 years. Santos grew up in MIra Mesa, but currently resides in Poway, California. Santos also owns a few small business’s. He owns a grill named Tiki Hut Island Grill and a few skateshops named Willy’s Workshop. Willy is related to the former teen skater Galbino. He also organizes community outreach programs. Santos assisted in the design of the Rancho Penasquitos Public Skate Park. In his spare time he helps assist charities and others by skating. His sponsors include Birdhouse, Power Footwear, Iron Horse Grip, Ninja Bearings, Arnette Eye Wear, Willy’s Workshop, and Tiki Hut Island Grill.

Daewon Song, born on February 19, 1975, is known for being one of the best tehnical skaters out there. He was born in Seoul, South Korea. Song’s first sponsor was World Industries, and he then appeared in their video “Love Child” back in 1992. He left World Industries in 1999 and started his own company “Deca”. Daewon has been in a couple Tony Hawk video games. He helped change the view on skateboarding, and what could be done on a skateboard. He was in a skateboarder gang know as the “Ruff Riders”. Daewon also was awarded Skater Of The Year back in 2006. Some of his most famous video parts include the videos Rodney Mullen vs. Daewon Song and Almost Cheese and Crackers. Chris Haslam and Daewon Song created one of the must unforgettable mini ramp videos ” Cheese and Crackers “.

Peter Ramondetta, born in 1982, is a professional skateboarder for Real, Circa, Spitfire, and Thunder Trucks. He was born in Witchita, Kansas and grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Ramondetta began to build a reputation amongst the local skaters in Tulsa in the late 1990’s. They looked up to him as one of the most talented skateboarders in Tulsa. Peter started to become noticed by other pro skaters and skate companies after Tulsa’s famed downtown Bartlet Square. He was skating with pros like Kerry Getz, Elissa Steamer, Ed Templeton, and Brian Anderson. This Toy Machine demo was being covered by Transworld Skateboarding Magazine. Later on, the article was publised, and Ramondetta was mentioned as the “local hero”. Shortly after this publish, he became sponsored by Real Skateboards. Peter now resides in San Francisco, CA. He recently got on the local New England Team Gnar Side Militia.

Zered Bassett, pro skateboarder for Zoo York, was born on February 6, 1984. He was born in Hyannis, Massachusetts but grew up in Chatham, Massachusetts. Many people may know him by his nicknames, Dr. Z or Z Bass. Zered is currently living in Manhatten, New York. Back in 2005, he was awarded Transworld Skateboarding’s Rookie of The Year. His first sponsor was Sixteen Skateboards. Bassett has had a bunch of video parts in videos such as, “Skate More” and “City of Killers and Vicious Cycle”. He came out with his own video which includes footage from the “Skate Maps” series. He also has the closing part in “Divercity”

Arto Saari was born November 9,1981 in Seinajoki, Finland. Saari, now sleep, breath, and skates in Huntington Beach, CA. His skate stance is regular, though you might see him ripping it goofy alot of the time. Back in 2001, Thrasher magazine selected him as Skater of the Year. He’s a machine, taking serious injuries left and right. Filming for the Flip video “Sorry”, Saari almost died from a head injury, just warming up with a back feeble on a handrail. In 2004 he was voted as one of the 100 Greatest Finns, by Finnish skaters. His sponsors include, or included Alien Workshop, Gravis Footwear, Analog Clothing, Ricta Wheels, CCS, and Destructo Trucks. Arto has also had characters in a bunch of video games including, Evolution Skateboarding, Tony Hawk’s Underground and Tony Hawk’s Proving Ground. So go to Huntington Beach, and witness one of the best skaters in the world.

Rick Howard was born in Canada, but now lives in California. He is well know for switch skating, which you can see in his part in the 2nd Plan B video “Virtual Reality”. One of his first sponsors were Gullwing Trucks, and Blockhead Skateboards. In 1991 he quit Blockhead and started skating for Plan B skateboards. During his time on Plan B he also switched from Gullwing to Independent Trucks. Rick quit Plan B in 1993 to create the company Girl Skateboards with the help of Spike Jonze, Mike Carroll, and Megan Baltimore. He left Dc shoes to create another company with Mike Carroll, Lakai Footwear. He is now the owner of Crailtap Distribution, which owns Lakai Footwear, Royal Trucks, Fourstar Clothing, Chocolate Skateboards, and Girl Skateboards. Howard is also known for his trick called the Rick flip, it’s a fakie frontside bigspin heelflip.  So go try that one, and check out his parts in Fully Flared, and Yeah Right.

Sierra Fellers, born in 1986, is one of the most known up and comers today. He currently rides for Dakine, Foundation, Circa, and Venture. He recently had some insane video parts in the Foundation video “Cataclysmic Abyss” and the Circa Video “It’s Time”. Sierra also scored the cover of Thrasher Magazine not too long ago. He is starting to get more known throughout the industry, by winning the Tampa Am in 2004 and taking 2nd in 2007. His first magazine cover was on Euro Sugar magazine. He currently lives and skates the streets of Long Beach. CA.
