I got hired to go to Indonesia a couple of summers back to film for a surf movie. Would you turn down a free trip to Indo? I didn’t hesitate. Bali is awesome. Here’s some random photos from the trip… and yeah I did bring my skateboard. - ended up giving it to a little local kid..

Monkey Temple: This place was right up the road from where we were staying and I only went there once. Pretty much blowing it. Place had thousands of monkey’s running around everywhere. You pay like 50 cents and can get some bananas and feed them. But you gotta be careful of these little fuckers. These smart asses will grab your hat, sunglasses, pretty much anything they can get from you. And watch your camera shit, especially changing lenses. They will jack you in a second.

Padang cave & tide pool: Pee N Ian, Hawaiian Ryan and myself grabbed some Bintang’s, (that’s the Indo beer and I can tell you it’s good) and went down to check out the tide pools and caves at low tide at Padang Padang. Pretty alright with me, but that’s if your into this hippie nature shit…. Well right in front of me in that tide pool was a sea snake that if it bites you, you die within minutes. So Ryan and PN were trying to pick it up and scare me with it. It all started when I was walking through this tide pool to get to this spot to take this photo and I freaked out when I saw it swim by me…

The bat cave: Every night 1000’s of bats would come flying out of this thing. This is when we just got done chucking rocks at them for a good 30 minutes……

Seen that National Geographic special on cattle mutilation? They have the same problem over their……

Lame sea life….

Dream Land: Yup, that’s what they call this place.

Dream Land Local: Hung out with this local lady and her son for a few hours one day comparing life styles to how we live here in the US and how they live there. Pretty awesome.

Dream Land Seller: This guy was hella cool. A pair of Bintang trunks + permission to shoot a few photos for 5 bucks = priceless.
Did I just use hella?

Dreamland Groms: They sure loved having their picture taken. It was cool at first then they wouldn’t leave me alone.

The Heckle Hut: This little shanti thing was right across the street from where we stayed. When I first arrived and got out of the taxi I was a little intimidated by the heckle hut. All the Locals hang out there every day and chill and heckle the shit out of people. But sure enough a week into the trip I felt right at home in the heckle hut and was right up in the mix for the heckle sessions….

Local at a ceremony…

Bali youth

Derek Bockelman paddling at Ulu Watu’s: So the whole point of this trip was to film this guy. Luckily Derek is a good friend of mine that I have known since 4th grade so it wasn’t weird going on a surf trip with him like it might be with some random bro brah’s. - Surfers can be wieners sometimes….

Derek’s got the race track wired. It’s only like 2ft deep right there. Fall and you’ll be taking a beating on dah reef boy!

he’s got the airs down too.

Padang Padang: This is what I walked up onto the first day we got there. I was tripping. Derek was getting the best waves…. It’s just too bad it was the first and last day of the trip that Padang Pandang looked like this.

Kutut’s Brother, look out point: This is the spot you go to check out Pandang and Impossibles. Just a rock throw away from where we stayed, we would be here all the time. I guess some Brazillian used to own the property and was busted for having half a joint so they threw him in prison or something like that. Yeah, if you didn’t know already Indonesia is very strict about the enforcement of their drug laws. When you arrive at the airport there is a huge sign that says ” Drugs = death “. Not in the way as what drugs will do to you, but in the way as what the government will do to you. Here’s Kutut’s brother enjoying the day.

Local lady from a ceremony at the beach: This is one of my favorite photos from the trip. I just posted up in this spot where I saw good lighting and waited. Boohyah! I got the shot!

Seafood section of the Super market

After playing some football on the beach and no I’m not talking about the jock0 homo John Madden shit your thinking but the other football. Everyone jumped in the water to cool off. I grabbed the camera first then cooled off myself…

Our tour guide at the Monkey Temple: This guy has it rough. ” Ok. USA! “
