Mike Carroll, born 1975, grew up skating in San Francisco. He skated for H-street and then hooked up with Plan B Skateboards. Carroll is known as being one of the creators of tech / street skating. He and Rick Howard came together to start a company named Girl Skateboards. Mike was a long time skater for Vans, then left vans for DC Shoes. After having a couple pro model shoes, him and Rick Howard decided to start there own shoe company, Lakai. Carroll was Thrasher Magazine’s Skater of The Year back in 1994.
