On Monday, November 17th myself and Alex Davis left for the west Coast. The following update of our travels is a little late, and I apologize for that but even the best laid plans go bad from time to time. We left about 3pm on Monday and dealt with snow most of the way to Chicago, as I had not slept in over 24 hours I blew it and didn’t have charged batteries in my camera until the next day. The drive to Chicago was nuts, there was a seven or so car pileup right in front of us that we somehow avoided while driving through Cleavland, there was a man standing in the middle of the highway in Indiana that we missed by about two feet, at seventy miles an hour.

We arrived in Chicago about midnight however and managed to get some shut eye.

The following day we went and hit up Uprise Skateshop, and talked to them for awhile. While Alex and myself were gung-ho about skating, it was extremely cold out and we quickly got over that idea. After saying goodbye to our generous hosts we hit the road for Omaha.

-Alex realizing that it’s too cold to skate in Omaha

We got a nice little hotel and made plans to roll out early the next morning so we could hit some skateshops and the sick concrete park in Omaha. However the bone-chilling cold that had ruined our Chicago stay was also present in Omaha. We left after about ten minutes of the coldest skateboarding I have ever done and made way to the B C Boardsports skateshop which was located in the mall. After we hit the shop up we decided to do some tagging.

-Some gas station in Colorado… or was it Nebraska… either way, midwest is boring.

-It is so flat you can see forever

After our nice little sticker session we decided to hit the road and set up camp in Denver for the next few days. The drive through the midwest is boring at best, and aside from a few gas stops flew past. Although we did meet a dinosaur…. Check back soon for Part Two, which may actually have skateboarding!!!
