Dirty Bearings

Based out of Seattle Washington comes Dirty Bearings. This isn’t some side project to some big company trying to make more money pretending to be two different companies. This is just a small little bearing company trying to squeeze in with everyone else in this extreme action living industry. If that doesn’t happened I’m pretty sure they dont care. The guys just wants to skate. So yeah there is no Wally World bank account backing them. Just themselves and I can say the bearings work. Yeah, they spin!  I’m riding the set right now Dirty Dan sent me and I have no complaints. I cant really be complaining because I really haven’t rode my skateboard for the past few weeks. But when I did ride it 2 weeks ago at JC’s Bachelor party I thought they rode well. I mean didn’t you hear I was killing it?

Well here’s a quote I grabbed off the their site to sum up what Dirty Bearings are about: “Dirty for life ..skate fast ..skate hard..hold true..slam hard..try again harder..focus, power,and originality ..welcome all and long live the DIRTY’s..”

Tommy Sandoval model

Yes I have been known to be one to dabble into the devils smoke but that doesn’t mean I want to wear shoes advertising it! Just kidding Hodges! You know what I am talking about though right?  Like those 420 bumper stickers you see or how about those brewery or Beer stickers. Those people are just asking for trouble. Well these shoes kind of remind me of the same thing. They actually feel pretty good though. Kind of like a beefed up half cab. But then again almost every skate shoe is based off of the half cab. Soles seem pretty gummy as well. I haven’t skated in these yet but they are great for taking bong rips. I can really grip the concrete in my garage well when I clear the bowl.

You probably know by now I like fishing. Especially bass fishing. So why wouldn’t I be stoked on this Ben Horton smoking bass board? If you don’t know who Ben Horton is he’s a rad artist that’s also doing that company Slave out of Blackbox. And dont worry if you don’t like fishing he draws other stuff too. WASHINGTON STREET SPITFIRE WHEEL

Spitfire hooked up the park with it’s own wheel. If you don’t know about Washington St. by now then you are retarded. These wheels are limited edition so they wont be around forever. I guess that’s the whole point of making stuff limited edition. That and the skate nerds get their panties all wet when it’s “limited”.  You may be wondering why they come in smaller sizes like these 53’s? It’s because who buys stuff? Parents do. They buy it for their kids and what do kids ride?  They ride 53’s. So there you go. Smart marketing.

PARTINES AMERICANOS SKATEBOARDS

So cool I have it hanging on my wall. What a douche bag right? Who hangs skateboards on walls? They aren’t made for that. They ‘re made to ride. I’m just heckling.Hell, I’m heckling myself. But yeah this board is rad. Pacifico Bottle  imitator American skate. You might be able to find one if you go to the shop Route 44 in San Diego.

EXTRA JOSS

My friend PN EN showed me this stuff while we were in Bali. To sum it up simply it’s like legal crack. Need to get juiced up? Grab a pack ofs JOSS. Want to drink booze all night at the clubs and not black out. Grab some JOSS! It comes in a powder formula and can be added to any drink. If you put it in a beer, like a 22 oz Bintang for example. Be ready to pound! The combo of the beer and the super dust makes a crazy fizzing concoction that must be drank immediately. And no I know what you are thinking. No, I don’t think you want to snort this stuff.

SANTA CRUZ USB FLASH DRIVE

My brother in-law gave me this for Christmas last year. At first when I unwrapped the present I was thinking to myself what the hell is this grown man buying a finger board for another grown man? Then looking closer I realized that this is no tech deck, but a USB port. It’s perfect for your 14 yr. old son and his friends to share and swap their favorite porno clips. Seriously, do you  know the Tech Deck curse? It isn’t something I made it up. It goes something like this: If you are one of the skaters in the Tech Deck ads posing with tech decks then your career as a professional skateboarder is in shambles.

CHINESE PABST BLUE RIBBON

I was at the supermarket in China and randomly saw they had PBR their. I Grabbed a 12 pack and tried it out. And yup, it still taste like shit. Excuse me, like pennies.

CONES

Picked these up at the local liquor store. They are called cones and are pre rolled papers with built in crutches. What else could you ask for? Maybe that they were full of weed? Nah, but yeah but these things are great for the rolling rookie. Just picture how cool you will feel when you roll up to the party with your spliff. Everyone will be so amazed with your rolling skills not really knowing you really just wasted your money on 3 papers when you could just learn to roll and buy a full pack of Zig/Zags for about the same price.

CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST

I picked this one up in China at a random market. Pretty much bought it strictly because of the box cover not knowing what I was actually getting. This movie is truly fucked! Real animals being slaughter on film, rumors of real people being killed and raped and eaten. The movie has terrible and I mean terrible acting, but the cinematography is top notch. As someone else said it, it’s like watching a National Geographic program with shitty actors. You can tell some of the stuff is not even scripted and just filmed raw. So what’s it about? It’s about 4 documentary film makers disappearing in the jungles of the amazon while filming a movie about Cannibalism. They never return but their film was found.

The film was banned in Italy, the UK, Australia, and several other countries due to its graphic depiction of gore, sexual violence, and the inclusion of six genuine animal deaths. Many nations have since revoked the ban, yet the film is still barred in several countries.

• The film caused some scandal in Italy at the time, and had trouble with the censorship board. There was a rumor that the performers had really been slain, so director R’uggero Deodato’ had to take the actors with him to the set of an Italian TV show in order to prove that they hadn’t been eaten alive.
• The film is one of the top ten highest grossing films of all time in Japan.
• The animal killings in the movie were real, which resulted in the movie’s being banned in its native Italy.
• UK version rated 18 is heavily cut to remove animal cruelty and sexual violence.
• The European EC video release is uncut.
• Filmed entirely in the Amazon rain forest.
