PHOTOGOON/STORY TELLER: BROOKS FRITZ

For the last part of our stay in Seattle we decided to stray away from the skate parks and hit up some street spots around town. I know, how lame! I’m just kidding. I love the streets dawg! Where’s the slappy curbs at? Or the 4 stair? You know there’s nothing better then pushing around town throwing your carcass off of something right? On a serious note, Seattle might be a city that is wet 3/4 of the year but I gotta give it up and say when it is dry there are some spots to be had.

There is only one CEO

The first spot CEO took us to was this asphalt bump to round rail. Spot was pretty crust. But all in all pretty good.

Xeno Miller, Krooky wooked it

While everyone else was at the bump to rail Sloan and Xander found this wall ride over a meter. Pretty rad.

What are you doing riding your skateboard on the wall Xander? There is a perfectly good sidewalk to use below you.

After the wall ride spot railing some bumps. I mean bumping some rails. I mean hitting the bump to rail we headed over to this spot on the water.

Right before dark we got to the bank to jersey barrier spot. I was super hyped thinking I was going to be able to finally skate when…

I noticed this no entry sign

img_5411

A Jersey bank to jersey barrier.  Amazing design huh? Pretty Ingenious idea dont you think? It’s amazing how sometimes when they build these things in skate parks they somehow manage to fuck them up.

Look at the edge at the bottom of the barrier you gotta jam through…

img_5425

The barrier session was done and everyone was ready to chow down. No better way to end the day then with some Dick’s!

So good. Especially after a long day of the Shrunk Juice.

After a night of camping we decided to head over to Marginal Way to skate for the day.  You might be wondering what’s Marginal Way? If you don’t know its a D.I.Y skate park built in Seattle, Washington. Instead of getting frustrated with their scene, Seattle loc’s got motivated and took shit into their own hands and started building a place they could call their own. Like the bridge parks before hand, they scoped an area that wasn’t going to be missed by anyone but tweekers and bums and took the zone over. What started in October 2004 has came a long way. When I first went here In 04′ I thought great another shitty too much flat ground 1/4 pipe park. Then as a few years have passed the place has started to take shape. But that’s probably because renegade parks aren’t built over night, ya know?

After skating Rolling Freedom skate park for a while and jumping in the river we got back on the road and headed north toward our destination: Seattle. Unfortunately We hit some traffic but the smart retards we are had some sodas to keep us occupied. Traffic wasn’t letting up but got word that a town called Kent on the way to Seattle supposedly had a Grindline park and sure enough the town did. Kent is located in the Green River Valley in King County and is recognized as an outlying suburb of the city of Seattle. As you know I love that hippie nature shit and the impressive Mt. Ranier can be seen from the park. Kinda cool.  So, the park is alright. Me being the big pussy I am these days the giant pipe and super bowl with steel coping didn’t really tickle my fancy. I preferred the kidney bean and the decks surrounding the park. Don’t get me wrong, there is a good time to be had here but once again in my eyes the park could be so much better.

Seriously. That’s a lot of concrete…

nd2a7025

This thing is actually a lot of fun though.

nd2a6976

Only thing it could use was a ladder or some stairs. I get tired of climbing out after a while. That’s probably because I have toothpicks for arms.
